Make your questions and comments

Hi all

The FAQ section of this web page contains some general questions a new user may ask. Each one of these questions are open for comments and follow up questions that I will find a way to answer. The idea is to create a dynamic discussion and to improve the documentation over time.

If your question or comment does not fit any one of the current FAQ, please leave it here as a comment and I will add it as a new FAQ entry.

Moreover, each release announcement allows for comments. You can use this to report bugs found in that particular version or to suggest new features to be implemented in future versions.

Hello,
I’m a PhD student working at TANDAR Laboratory in Buenos Aires.
I’m using ScanRoot v 4.04 with ROOT v 5.18, in Ubuntu 10.04.
It works fine, but when I try to unload a L2 trigger file I get the following error:

Error in : [.so | .sl | .dl | .a | .dll] does not exist in .::/home/paco/pelroot/lib:/usr/lib/root:/usr/lib/root/5.18

and the trigger doesn’t actually unload.
The documentation is very useful. Thank you very much.
Kind regards,

Patricio

P/S: I did try copying the file to the locations suggested in the error.

Hello,
I am new to Scan root. Is there any way to extract raw data from the *.fil files. Here in USP, Sao Paulo, we are extracting histograms from the *.fil files using a *.cxx file (where histograms are defined), But I want to extract raw data (a root file with a tree having some branches/leaves), so that I can manipulate data with my own macro.

Thanks a lot,
with regards,
Appannababu

Hello Patrico,
Thanks, I am able to generate a tree with the code. But, now I am getting this error for all the branches, when I am trying to read the generated root file.

Error in : The pointer type given “Int_t” (3) does not correspond to the type needed “Float_t” (5) by the branch: par_2

Do you think, Is this the problem of root version, which I am using, I googled a bit and found this!

Thanks
with regards,
